When Vietnam started I was not in the US and at relative young age so it would be difficult for me to compare.

But worth mentioning the Vietnam war stopped the unchecked expansion of communism which in retrospect was a great achievement even that very few would appreciate it today.

Now we need to stop the spread of fundamentalist islam, spread by arabs,(mostly the Saudi Clan) who preaches the destruction of western values and civilization. The regime change in Iraq is the way to stop the spread of this sick concept which drive young people to kill themselves in hope to kill many more other innocent people and "nonbelievers".

Keep in mind that arabs are a small fraction of those who chose islam as a religion.

There are close to 1 billion Indians and more so Hindus or over 1.3 billion Chinese many of whom are also living in poverty but do not preach the destruction of the Western Culture or the US by terror or other violent means. They try to build a better life for themselves and compete with us commercially and not try to extort favors by hiking the prices of oil as the arabs do to respond to their demands
