I think copper is signalling that housing has been strong and that commodities are going up in price. But that is from the housing bubble, not a strong economy.

Copper is signaling 3 things.

1) decline in the value of the US$
2) Demand from China (there is a huge recovery there)
3) Demand for hard assets signaling possible inflation
