This is a conventional war, with conventional prisoners as far as the Iraqis go. Any Al Queda types found will be transported to Gitmo, never to be heard from again.

If it were a conventional war, the combatants would all be designated as POWs and subject to the Geneva Convention.

As you probably know, there is little chance that all Iraqis will be designated POW, as evidenced by the example of the Taliban following the Afghanistan invasion.

Which brings us back to my question of which Iraqi officials will be considered POW, which will be unlawful combatants or battlefield detainees, and whether or not a new category will be needed for Saddam's high officials.
