Dear David: I have not thought of the French as an ally ever since they pulled their Nuclear Program out from NATO many years ago. Anyone who offers an UNBIASED opinion of the French has GOT to admit the French are for the French and THAT IS ALL. When they get in trouble they come to us for help, but they do not have the moral convictions necessary to realize its a two way street. jdn
