American so called interests take precendence over all else.

Why, of course. I can't imagine an American thinking any other way. And you wonder why liberals get branded as "anti-American"? There's your answer.

Anyone who would put the interests of another nation above ours at a time when we are engaging in activities which may lead to war is guilty of treason.

I would point out there is a difference between dissent and treason. When you voice your opposition, that's dissent, which is fine. When you actively put the interests of Iraq before those of the United States, you are committing treason.

Al Re..All they have to do is win over Americans. They don't care what the UN does and what the ROW thinks.

That is a shallow accusation. If Gw didn't care about the Un, why did they go before the UN and get 1441 passed? Of course GW cares for UN participation, but whether the UN participates doesn't take prescidence over US national concerns. The fact that Powell was able to connect Saddam to AL Qaeda makes the case compelling enough to the American people, such that the right thing to do is disarm Saddam, sooner rather than later. The big question I have, is; aren't the terrorists frightening enough for you using conventional weapons, that you insist, we should leave those tons of chemical weapons available. It makes no sense to me.

The administration will have created the impression of safety, at least until the seeds germinate, then we will reap the crop of this madness.

And I would suggest to you that it is madness to leave over 100 tons, and growing, of chemical weapons in the hands of a madman, who has terrorist connections.

I wouldn't be so sure.......early word is Powell's evidence isn't that strong. We shall see tomorrow.

All they have to do is win over Americans.

Trust me, they are not winning over Americans, Ten's latest poll post notwithstanding.......nor are they winning over the markets either. After being up all day, the DOW is down 30 pts as I post. Powell did not come through because they don't have a smoking gun. We will go to war because we are too far up a creek without a paddle; however, the American people are getting what's going on and they will be pissed. Bush won't have time for anything else but the war and the rebuilding afterwards, and so the economy will stay stuck in the muck probably for the rest of his term.

Unfortunately, all of us will pay for this conservative madness but in the end, if it gets rid of the Bushes once and for all.......who can complain too much? <g>

They don't care what the UN does and what the ROW thinks. American so called interests take precendence over all else. The UN will come out destroyed simply for not towing the line, Arab countries will probably see tremendous unrest and may topple to Islamists, local economies will be shattered...but hey, American will shall be uphepd. The administration will have created the impression of safety, at least until the seeds germinate, then we will reap the crop of this madness.

Yes, they know not what they do......unfortunately. And Americans will pay long after they're gone victims of the Bushes's hubris. Its sucks.......for sure.

Damn, even gold is crashing. We'll be lucky to have any kind of economy after Bush is done with it.
