American Spirit makes a strong case for Kerry in '04...fyi...

<<...Kerry will win the nomination. Lieberman will fade as he will not win any primaries. he has the name recognition now but those in the know realize he cannot win. The revelation that Kerry is part Jewish will also sap money and support from Lieberman. But since Kerry has been a practicing Catholic all his life it will not incite the anti-semitics much either. Lieberman is a great man and quite conservative, but he is not charismatic. And he is "too jewish" to win in the heartlands. Kerry is a war hero, the real thing, has tons of money behind him, is a tremendous speaker and debater, stands tall, macho and strong. Has the Honest Abe thing going for him. And being a war hero can be either dovish or hawkish without it hurting him. He will also attract a big chunk of the veteran vote and take much of Bush's #1 issue, the military and terrorism away from him. Kerry is on record warning the presidents about homeland terrorist attacks prior to 9-11. He also voted togo after Iraq so long as the UN is behind us, the most popular view. Bottomline though it will be the economy, and come down to a handful of swing states. With the right running mate, Kerry can take enough to win from Bush. Bush's problem is he has been singing to the choir too much, playing to the right-wing. And will have a hard time now appearing to be a moderate. He talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Bushies will attack Kerry with lame stories, but it will come back into their face. For instance if they mention Kerry's anti-war feelings after Nam it will give Kerry the chance to compare war records with Bush and express his deep-felt love for his brothers in arms. Bush has no brothers in arms. He was technically a deserter, and was never punished. Kerry also has no financial scandals in his past. Bush has a few doozies and they have never really been aired in public. Kerry will chip away at Bush's teflon coating until he is exposed as a guy who got where he is by selling out the public to special interests, most of them polluters and others who damage public health or pocketbooks. Bush will also have to keep explaining his trillion dollar deficits which will weaken our country dramatically. And finally, Bush's backstabing of McCain might come back to kill him. McCain may run with Kerry for the first non-partisan ticket since the 1800's...>>
