It's a pretty unlikely scenario, but to be more realistic imagine that after 16 hours the mother realized that the cord was around the fetus neck which was now hopelessly braindamaged. It would be her decision if she wanted to continue. It would not be your decision, mine, or the clergy.

You completely avoided my question. You initially stated:

The child can speak for himself once sufficient mental capacity is developed

In that scenario, you spoke for the child, you decided when the child could speak.

I really was not interested in the likelihood of my scenario or your scenario. What I am interested in is where you draw the line.

You stated a woman should be allowed to abort right up until birth.

So I'll ask you again. Is it okay with you that a woman decides for whatever reason, to abort minutes before delivery?
