Huey,

You can out expert me all you want, I don't much care. I was refuting your statement about how obvious the obviouness of the situation regarding expensing stock options. Nothing seems obvious to me and there are important questions to be addressed. Simply being outraged and yelling loudly doesn't solve the problems. I was an early advocate for expensing stock options because it makes sense in principle. However, I have yet to see a practical means to accomplish the goal. Stock options have been an important tool for Silicon Valley companies and I cannot understand why they would give them up until a practical solution is offered.

So, go ahead, hit me with all your experts but until you solve the valuation problem, it doesn't matter. Investors will still need to unwind the stock option numbers to figure out the real profits of a company. Earnings will still be meaningless and nothing accomplished.

I am looking forward to the FASB recommendations.

Paul
