First, I don't like all this moral shenanigans that US is after justice and liberty and Europe is just a coward. I regard this as the administration's attempt to pull the wool over the people's eyes and I don't like it.

No real argument from me. The only time I say that Europe is a coward is when I hear someone say that Europe is somehow collectively wiser or holier than the U.S. I know you're not one of that crowd.

Secondly I don't believe it is in the interest of American people to bomb Iraq for their oil. Bush's oil buddies may want us to do so, but all moral issues aside, I do not see this in the long term interest of Americans.

If it were just for Iraq oil, I would agree with you too. But it isn't that easy. I know you don't agree that this will be a plus for the region. I think it will be. In that regard, it will be a plus for the US. If we had a crystal ball and could see the future, the decision might be simpler. I don't have any illusions that my predictions are perfect. I could well be wrong. If we go to war, I hope I'm not. If we don't, I hope I am.
