Clinton was cleared on Whitewater. No evidence of any illegal activity after many years and 80 milion worth of tax-payer funded investigation. The biggest witch-hunt in history and nothing in the end. The secret right-wing money men like Koch Industries poured additional millions into a character assasination attempt on Clinton. They offered to pay anyone who would say anything. They paid Paula Jones and others. There are also some big Clinton haters in Arkansas who dreamt up and exaggerated anything they could think of. Their credibility is highly-suspect even though we all know Clinton slept around. Thosre character assasins then stick their accusations in the right-wing press, it gets repeated and repeated until pretty soon a lot of people think it is fact. Also, anyone can file a frivolous lawsuit. They just cannot win them. But a lawsuit about "rape" is like the old question "do you still beat your wife?". If you even respond to it you're damaged. Very underhanded trick huh? And very deliberate. Notice now that he's out of power nobody is accusing Clinton of such things. That my friend is called political character assasination. John Kerry expects some of this and has vowed to write a massive check to counter it if it begins. It is very dangerous running for president because if they dont try to shoot you they will try and come up with some hidden sin in your past, exaggerate it and force you to defend yourself. Bush's attitude is not even to respond, against cocaine and abortion claims. If someone did what the right-wing did to Clinton to Bush, you'd be furious and shocked. But the Democrats have no such well-funded low-life character assasination squads, just the usual dirt-diggers every campaign has. The only one who tried it on Bush was Larry Flynt who did it by himself. Didn't like Democrats either. In 2004, Bush's holiday ends and you will hear a lot of dirt on him. By now, we will have a good idea what is true or false. A lot of evidence has been building up against Bush on items he side-stepped in 2000. And expect dirt to surface on the Democrat too, probably John Kerry. But it won't be anything serious. Maybe something to do with his ex-wife's mental problems or some ex girlfriend saying such and such. That's politics.
