Also that 6%+ is only the unemployment that is reported. Many freelancers are suffering under-employment. Many people are living off the equity in their homes. Others are staying in school because there is a shortage of good jobs. The numbers would also be higher if more low-paid security guards and soliders weren't being hired. Put it all together and it's a lousy picture. The question is, how bad will it get before it turns around?
