Sure, like Iraq will own the oil wells after we invade there...under a dictator appointed by us..... A Chinese company operates it and most Chinese companies have ties to their army. But our troops are still there, not so???

Panama bought up the land our bases were on.

In fact, Panama is an example which proves the opposite of your point. It proves we can go in and clean up a country with swift action and leave the spoils of war to the people.
