An excerpt from the intro. I hope they don't mind.

"One of the greatest paradoxes of our time is the way in which supposedly conservative Republican Presidents have promoted big government and internationalism in the United States. Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, and Bush all talked like conservatives, but the record shows that their policies advanced the liberal agenda at a faster and more ominous clip than any Democrat occupants of the White House could have done."

Here's a link to that book.

This has also been true of the President Bush we have now who has just accomplished the greatest restructuring of the US Government in history since FDR and nobody seems to really notice. We certainly don't hear about it on the news. Nobody is challenging to the Supreme Court and challenging the changes as they did in FDR's time. FDR was a Democrat and everything he did was challenged. Bush is a Republican and everything he does slides right through. Everything Clinton tried was met by a stone wall, not that I mind that. But there's a definite pattern. We heard about the Office of Homeland Security being created at the cabinet level. Now we hear nothing. This new Agency might some day be compared to the Gestapo. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance but who is watching now? Nobody has heard about the restructuring of the entire intelligence community. But that is being done. All agencies will report to one "intelligence tsar" who will report to the President giving the president direct control of all intelligence agencies and such direct, unscrutinized power has never been in the hands of a President before. But nobody seems to mind.

Heres a link to info about President Bush Jr and his present actions

"Rise of the Garrison State", and that certainly describes what's happening.
