Neocon, What really troubles me is how the left feels we have a cynical interest in Iraq's oil. If we were playing cold-war power politics - the following would have happened: o following 911 - secret meetings with Iraqi leadership o in return for their help - sanctions dropped o Iraqi pressure with their new US allies forces Saudi and Iranian religious zealots to confront terrorism o Chavez is dead and a US sponsored regime in power (not just looking the other way - active involvement) Iraq and Venezuala would guarantee our oil supply and price. Thats what Truman, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Johnson & Nixon would have done. John
