That's naive (surprise). Domestic oil is not "drying up". You've bought into the spin. The fact is that the domestic oil is there in huge quantities, but it is more expensive for a host of reasons to produce, making US exploration generally unfavorable. The best thing for Big Oil would be for a sweeping nuclear war in the Middle East, since it would render OPEC effectively irrelevant- sending prices up.

Big Oil doesn't need the Iraqi oil. They'd rather see it removed from the equation.
