"not go backwards, which he is doing at every opportunity"

In some cases we do need to go backwards. The red tape regarding logging (which is the topic that started this exchange) has resulted in dangerously overgrown forests that are prone to burn. We lost 6,000,000 acres in the west last year alone. A.S. submitted that GWB wanted to and was in the process of destroying old growth redwood forests, which is an outright lie. He (GWB) is trying to undo the damage (going backwards?) that has resulted from the overly aggresive requirements put in place by the environmentalists. That is my opinion anyway, and it is based on reading all information I come across from both sides, along with my experience living in California. I have no interest in trying to dig up information that will try to convince me to hate Bush or convince me that he is against the environment. If you have a specific issue that you feel is particularly agregious that Bush has implemented, spell it out and I will agree or disagree with you. I probably will not search all of your links to try and figure out why you feel so strongly that Bush doesn't care about the environment.
