Ted Re...First let me say........I don't know this Asia Times publication any better than you do. I simply posted an article from there at one time.

Isn't it amazing how you can change your tune when you wish.

I am not changing my tune at all. All I was saying that I don't know the the publication that well.

I don't know if Herr Pfluger of the German Parliament is a reasonable person or someone looking to start trouble.

well, why don't you enter Friedland Pfluger into google and see what comes up. I did and came up with over 90 articles. Pfluger is very influential in Germany, like Daschle would be here.

Good for him!

I do know that its surprising that Pfluger says its not okay for him to release alleged secret documents but it is okay for Schroeder......that's doesn't make sense

It makes perfect sense. Only the president here, has the ultimate authority to release classified documents. Pfluger was shown classified documents, just as LIeberman here was, under the condition he didn't release them. Schroeder as president has the authority to release those documents if he so choses. By claiming Gw has no proof, when Schroeders own intelligence agency has confirmed that Saddam has them, is an outright lie. He is deceiving the German people for his own political purposes.

You misunderstood my statement. If the document is so classified and the info so sensitive, why is it okay for Schroeder to release the info and not Pfluger. I would think its unacceptable for either man to release the info.

Amer. and Brit intelligence and France and Germany believe the former theory is correct while Bush, Blair and apparently German intelligence believe the latter theory is correct.

That is an outright lie. American, Brit and German intelligence all agree that Iraq, has WMD. along with Blix. GW and Blair believe what their intelligence agencies have told them.

BS..........reports last summer from US and Brit. intelligence said there was no evidence. The first major new news was today with Powell. So chill your butt!

Schroeder prefers to ignore his intelligence service to suit his politcal purposes. Don't even begin to try to tell me that the CIA doesn't think Saddam has WMD; in fact Powells speech today had proof from the CIA that Saddam has WMD.

Like I said, to my knowledge, Powell's evidence is the first new evidence since last summer.

If human decency is the issue why are we not in the Ivory Coast right now.....people are getting slaughtered left or right.......or Nigeria for that matter.

Thats easy. How many of them have WMD threatening the US. How many of them have tortured 1500 prisoners by using them as guinea pigs for Saddams gas experiments. How many of them have connections to Al qaeda, and are plotting to kill thousands with their deadly gases.

Okay, then chill with your violin for the Iraqi people. Don't misrepresent where your concerns are.

He thought the US would be too chickenshit because the Reagan and Bush administrations led him to believe we were all friends. It would seem Saddam doesn't understand GOP politics and friendship, huh?

Saddam doesn't understand human nature.

What? Did you do lunch with Saddam and he spilled his guts?

Would you stand by a friend, if you knew you friend killed his wife and children. Some times a presidnet has to stand up for hman rights, not friends. Saddam wasn't the symbol of evil, threatening human rights, when he took office 23 yrs ago. Things change.

Excuse me.........as late as 1989 we were helping ole Saddam.....including Bush Sr. Sooooooo....in 1989, he was a great guy and then in 1991, he turned tyrant. Come one, give me a New York minute break. We didn't like Iran; Iraq was fighting Iran in the '80's so Iraq was our best bud. We have a tendency to hang with criminal types from time to time.....look at our current Pakastani 'ally'.......they must do our dirty work for us so we can stay virginal clean.
