Contrary to your mistaken views, war in Afghanistan continues even as you sit comfortably in your armchair tippy tapping on your keyboard. Yes the Taliban are out of Kabul, but they are hardly out of the picture. Warlordism and ethnic violence have resumed with a vengence as the country disintegrates. Refugees are returning everywhere -- with little or no protection or aid. And -- what a surprise! -- opium production is soaring. What is the Bush plan for Afghanistan? What is the vision of the future? What is the postwar vision for Iraq? How long will the U.S. remain involved? At what level? And at what cost? Get a grip. M2
