You are aware, are you not, that the Mexican War started because Mexico declared war on the US, not vice versa? marcos and I went through this in detail. I believe on this thread. And I'd say I won the debate. But if 150-year-old disputes decides these matters, why don't we just rename the Americas the Balkans, have all American states declare war on all the others, and be done with it? At some point, bygones are bygones and you get on with what is in front of you. At least if you are sane and have any desire to have sane people pay attention to you, you do.
