coug,

The classified documents from the State Department during the Viet Nam era are just now being declassified. While the American public was fed the propaganda about the "domino effect" and the spread of Communism, the communications among the cognoscenti were of an entirely different nature, almost preternaturally possessed of sugar plum fantasies of the possession of vast rubber, tin and petroleum resources.

This time it is no different. Most of the communications between State, Commerce and the Department of Death deal in dividing the Iraqi Oil Carcass among the victors.
