This early in the game the insiders are the tale of the tape. Without insider support the other candidates will gradually give up and fade away. Howard dean may be the exception. Today's quasi endorsement of Kerry by the AFL-CIO was unprecedented. And Kerry is not a union ass-kisser like Gephardt. He is just the man they want to beat Bush. Beating Bush is all Democrats care about in 2004. They may like Lieberman and be fond of Gephardt but those two are old hat and seen as losers. Lieberman is also far too Jewish in most peoples' eyes. And neither have the credntials militarily that Kerry has. Nor the money. Bush has a huge fundraising advantage against everyone except Kerry. People know that. Kerry and his wife have $800,000,000 they may very well use. That's enough to overcome 50 Enrons or HMO's on the Republican side. It also helps that besides the youngish Edwards (who may be Veep), Kerry is the one who LOOKS like The President. More so that Bush too. He has stature and THE LOOK plus the brains, readiness and knowledge. He is also personally quite a stud and jock, even at his age. And he looks great not just riding in a tank but operating one. He has personally slain our enemies and won the military's highest honors. No one else has that distinction. Bush ought to be ashamed of his military record.

No matter what Rush Limbaugh says (he attacks only what he fears) Kerry is the man who will attract the majority of Americans. Gore dropped out partially because of Kerry. I'm personally surprised Lieberman and Gephardt even dared to run. They may be gone after the first few primaries. Or even earlier. But make no mistake, they will be gone, and won't come close to first place. That will belong to John Kerry. johnkerry.com if you want to volunteer as I have.
