"Grove didn't actually help start the company.

Moore and Noyce founded Intel.

Grove was one of the first employees recruited, put in charge of production. Grove was employee #4?"

First, Noyce himself referred to Intel as the "three-headed monster." Grove was deeply involved in the very early phases.

Second, Gene Flath was in charge of production. Grove was head of all operations.

Third, the bio Carl Mehr quoted said specifically that Grove participated in the founding of Intel, which is true. (The founding being an event of duration greater than an instant, namely, the first critical months of the company.)

Fourth, the other leading candidate to be named a participant in the founding was Bob Graham.

No one doubts that "Noyce and Moore" were the principal founders, but several others, including Grove, Rock, Vadasz, Flath, Graham, and a few others certainly deserve much credit.

Steve'
Congratulations! You have just won 1000Humbles!

I guess that Grove is living up to his motto: Only the Paranoid Survive. He is so insecure and wants to leave a legacy of being a VIP that participating in the founding of Intel. What a falsehood! (Right now he and his inner circle is going to be remembered for stealing Intel right out from under the hard working Intel engineers).

Greed is what I will put on his tombstone. Show your love for him by sending some kind words to andy.grove@intel.com

He is trying to rewrite Intel's history. Will you try winning 1MillionHumbles by getting the bio corrected? Good luck!

Yes, Andrew S. Grove, was Intel's 4th employee.

Employees 1,2 and 3 were (possibly in this order):
Ted Hoff, Stanley Mazor and Fedrerico Faggin.

Question for the audience: What made Grove so great at Intel? Was he a good engineer or did he rise to the top by taking credit for other peoples work? The Humble One is just asking the question as my suspicion was raised by the phony bio where he claims to be something that he is not...humble carl
