yeah, and we said we thought chemical weapons were just AWFUL! Right before we normalized relations with Iraq. Glaspie said she said that we weren't interested in the Kuwait/Iraq dispute. She may have meant we weren't "interested" as in- gee, we're bored by your petty little problems, but it could certainly be taken another way. It doesn't matter if we "wanted" a peaceful resolution. We said we "wanted" them to quit using chem weapons, but we also said we didn't think they were all that bad. After all, killing people is killing people, said the pentagon (of course that was when they were killing Iranians).
