Bush's commitment to AIDS was surprising and good. Strange though that he fought John Kerry and Bill Frist's fight to get this funding up until now. Could it be this and the hydrogen funding were both intended to deny Kerry 2004 issues against him? That said, they're commendable anyway. Now let's see if he delivers. I'm always a little suspect when Bush promises compassionate programs. Much of the time he forgets his promises soon after. Remember his promise to fully fund education with Kennedy? Approve the Kyoto Treaty? fight for clean air, water and protect forests?
