1)Not sure what you mean....Billions to the UN? Do you have the figures? And with it, would be helpful to have the numbers of the amount of money the US has actually spent around the world keeping the peace in so many countries over the same amount of time. While we are comparing those numbers, perhaps we could compare the actual numbers of the rest of the countries in the world as well....including France and Germany.

While I'm on a roll here....re Aids help to Africa and other countries in the world....the US recently has suggested 15 BILLION dollars (10 BILLION of that "new money) for Aids help to Africa..... WHAT are other countries, (including the ones in the ME, Security Council, and France and Germany) doing in this regard....dollar amounts?

2) I've thought of that many times, and wondered why some in the world have been able to overcome the centuries old ways, and some haven't. And it isn't just the ME....look at current Africa for instance....Zimbabwe, MauMaus, Tutus and Watussi's....and 50 years ago...Hitler...Mussolini, Battan Death March and Camps, North Korea and Viet Nam...ditto, ditto....

3) Guess I'm just sickened by the thought of allowing more of these madmen run around for years more, inflicting additional horrors on civilian populations.

1) KLP--I'm somewhat familiar with the concept of positive behavior modification...but then, one would think that the UN would have educated people skilled in that also. Doesn't seem to have accomplished much in the last 12 years.

>>>SC---But then again, we have not thrown billions of $ into it, either, like we have weapons development.

2) >>>KLP--It truly is hard to understand a despot who thinks nothing of killing thousands of his own citizens, including the children.

>>>SC--Have you ever read the Bible critically? It endorses all terrible manner of behavior, from dashing babies' brains out on rocks to cutting off your own hand if it sins. And while I know that Islam does not follow the Bible, it also illustrates that this sort of thought has been common in the ME for centuries and is ingrained in their cultures.

3) KLP>>>>Probably my failing, but I don't even want to imagine what their "win" is....

SC>>>I get your point, it might be gruesome. But then again, wouldn't it be illuminating to know for sure?
