Hawk,
Nations appease other nations and the consequences can be disastrous. International organizations are more affected by the disease of big organizations everywhere, inertia. Thats why the US is dragging them kicking and screaming to the alter. Historically speaking, iraq is about where nazi germany was in the early 30s, except for one thing, WMDs. If Hitler had WMDs when he reoccupied the rhineland, he would have been infinitely more dangerous much earlier. Yes Saddam is a two bit dictator but with an arsenal that makes him a clear and present danger now. Add to that the mixture of international pacifism and anti-americanism around the world and you have a real problem. I thought that particularly when i read the Mandella speech. Mike
