Bill >I think even he would blush at being called a "patriot". In the circumstances, I suppose he would --- he would certainly be amused. From Collins dictionary: "Patriot n. a person who vigorously supports his country and its way of life." I imagined that, with his background and his intense literary contribution, he was such a person but it's quite clear that, whatever he is, he is not a patriot.
