Sounds like these "strong sales" numbers are included in the latest 150K subscriber count.


I think they are still just quoting the December number (which is exactly 152,000). The January numbers arent on either the TCA site or Docomo's site. If they had given the new sub numbers for January, it seems likely we would have seen the number of new iMode subs reported somewhere.

I think the numbers are usually posted on the TCA website on a Friday.....so maybe we'll know tomorrow.

It's interesting that Keitel made it quite clear that FOMA is performing at 64kbs.

I think Keitel was referring to J-Phone's roll-out. I dimly remember a couple of firsthand reports, when FOMA first rolled out, of download speeds of 200+ Kbps when using the handset as a modem for your laptop. I assume that the videophone capability is still working over a 64Kbps circuit-switched connection.
