That's what makes birth a good point for the legal definition. It is early enough that that conciousness has not occurred and it is a very well defined event that it hard to mistake or fake.

You merely here treat birth as you ought to treat conception. You claim here that as long as the nine-month old child is inside his mother, he is not human. But should a second later he issue from the womb, then he magically becomes human. It is precisely this sort of elasticity in sanity and integrity of people who claim to follow science, that causes me to reject their pronouncements outright.
