Zonder -

RE PPK - now we are beating a dead horse. As I said repeatedly, it is shades of grey.

<<"... to bring to justice the perpetrators, organizers, and sponsors" of the WTC attack">>

No, Iraq is not in this category but you conveniently overlooked the continuation of that sentence - "those responsible for aiding, supporting or harboring the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these acts will be held accountable". Which would include Iraq if they are allowing Al Qaida to operate on their soil.
---> Shame on you for trying that obfuscation.

<<So you understand now why myself, ... might be a bit sceptical about Powell's "evidence"? >>
NO, I have always understood your skepticism and I have never faulted you for it, and if you were to pay attention to my posts you would see that I also have a fair amount of skepticism.

But I, the UN, and most people, are not skeptical about the data - it has long been clear that Sadam is trying to hang onto his WMD programs. The skepticism is about 1) is Sadam's threat so imminent that it requires pre-emption? and 2) What is Bush's agenda?

And here is where I start to draw the line - to have a rogue government like Sadam's with WMD capabilities linked up with an international terrorist organization like Al -Qaida that has repeatedly shown the desire to use those weapons - that, to me, is an imminent threat.
.....And, again, I will point out that that linkage was provided in a verifiable way which has already led to the arrest of Al Qaida cells in Britain and France.
.....But still, I wish that Bush didn't start with a rush to a full scale war. That should be the last recourse, not the only option.
