Rather than think in true/false dichotomies, why not think of arguments that are more or less persuasive.


OK, since you have been rather "Anti-Binary" lately, let's look at the phrase "America is a force for good in the World" on a sliding scale.

I happen to believe it is true 90% of the time. Some believe it is true 100% of the time. Chomsky, based on my readings of him, believes it is true almost zero percent of the time. So let us say that everyone else is in between. We don't need to make it a lindybill/chomsky binary comparison. We can say that everyone else "nuances" one way or the other on a sliding scale.

Therefore, we know that those who are considered to be on the "Right" slide toward believing it, and those on the "Left" slide toward not believing it. Makes it easier to figure out what reaction folks will have to our various Foreign adventures.
