Only the ignorant think Saddam's military rule is better for Iraqi people than a democracy.

Nobody has said that AND the issue is a BIT more complex than "Oh here comes democracy!".

Bill,

I'm not deying people of Iraq want to be liberated. Just want you to consider the parallel of the Soviet Union as a datapoint.

Most people dreamt of democracy there. Now they'd give anything to restore the the state they had hated so. Would you consider the 'liberation' of Soviet Union successful?

Unless the people have the right education and right tools and the right aptitude to accept democracy and make it work, democracy will lead to a greater chaos becoz its based on the principles of self discipline and mutual respect.

Despite the 'allegations' of being a democratic state, is Pakistan really democratic? India OTOH, is. Same from the same stock - why would there be a difference?
