Did you read my entire post about interference with the balance of powers? Did afghanistan war in 70s create a better world? Did Iraq war create a better world? Is former USSR a better world now ? Better for who? Why call it liberation if it is vested interests ? Just because the US govt was smart and compassionate once, doesn't automatically ensure it is intelligent now - does it? Edit: Are we waging war because we want to 'save' Iraqis or is US defending itself ? two entirely different goals....
