I simply think your point is immaterial. It doesn't matter. We aren't helping Iraq out by buying their oil. They aren't helping us out by selling their oil. I said the oil is part of a "metaphorical" pool, but I certainly didn't suggest it was all dumped into some international container. It is a silly argument. We don't want THAT oil, IT came from Iraq. We want only oil from Saudi Arabia. Worldwide commodity markets just don't work that way. By my reading of YOUR link we averaged 800K bbl/day from Iraq out of 3M bbl/day from Iraq or 27%. Not that it matters a damned bit.
