I remember because I was a young, impressionable high schooler back then, and I closely followed the media. No one predicted the relative cakewalk that we had. Even the news media didn't expect to have Iraqis surrendering to them.

You were in high school in 1992....I thought you were 30,31....no?

I don't remember anyone calling the first Gulf war another Vietnam. If there were any protests, they were fairly muted.
