it's too obvious, i'm thinking maybe it's like mish said and has to do with the qqq instrument merrill lynched is peddling. when it looked like a paired trade w/ the 55's that was one thing, but with all the volume on just the 45's it makes no sense...what can you do with those that you can't do with the qqq outright, unless someone wanted to short $1 Billion + worth of qqq and couldn't get the shares or didn't want to worry about getting bought in, still pointless to have such an open trade out there for all to see imo.
