He makes no effort to understand the various viewpoints which people might hold, instead considering those who are not in line with him either hostile to America, or dupes, and failing to realize that a robust debate on public issues is generally good. Besides, history is full of ironies. The most effective anti- Communist author, for example, was probably George Orwell, an independent socialist.....
