I have both the 720 and 4400. While the 4400 has more colors, the resolution is similar. Neither can really be viewed in daylight well. You're right--these screens are not ready for photo-quality graphic applications. I'm hoping to one day have a Palm or PocketPC connected to Verizon's 1X network for more intensive on-the-go graphic applications. A perfect example would be real-time stock-charting and another surf cam viewing.

(Note: The 4400 is a considerably better phone than the 720 overall)

not only that...

the navigation around the menus from the SPRINT Vision interface to enter in text is beyond my patience or the capabilities of my Samsung N400...end user interface has got to be better or the only use for 1x is from a laptop. I can only download so many ringtones and screen savers. I can retrieve Messenger IM files sent to me... that is cool...but to respond to them through the phone I have not a clue. I can receive files from websites but I will be damned if I can open them.
