Energyplay >>>Hey Sharp, you enjoying being in cash ? <<<

That's not exactly how I'd describe my portfolio. I am right now about 40% short, 40% mining stocks, 6% energy, and the balance cash.

I hit a new all time high two days ago, dipped a little yesterday on mining weakness (offset by strength in shorts), and today so far things are flat.

Despite calls on SDII that the miners are at a top I've decided to stay put for now. Ditto for shorts - even though I think the market is heading down I don't want to overcommit as we are vulnerable to short & fierce rallies. A little dry powder is a comforting thing.

Ironically I find myself exposed to the same risks that the energy bulls are - peace in Iraq. If peace were to break out I'd expect energy and precious metals to tank, and the general market to rally. That would be poison for my portfolio mix, and poison for energy perma bulls too.
