Wow, data clear back to 1835 per capita? Who was it that said the new deal was a golden goose in every pot and 2 golden Lexus hood ornaments in every garage?

Looking forward to the major bullion charts. I DO believe the Chinese Panda one will prove to be a most interesting peek at that old issue. Any plans to overlay a double X (right) axis and show current prices per issue a/w/a number issued on X (left) axis, with Y being years I presume?

What a fun statistician you are.

Did you catch my post yesterday about there being a new Indian coin issued by the ICICI bank beginning 12/02?
hmmmmm. I meant to ask cynic 2005 what percentage of the Indian population is purported to be Muslim....
oh, well....

As regards the California Gold Production in oz, that is somewhat of a misnomer we Oregonians, Washington-tonians, Nevadoans, Arizonoans, love to point out.

You see, California production numbers back in that era were "fattened" due to the regulations that
most all western 1/2 US gold was funnelled to either Seattle Assay Office or San Fran Branch. During winter
months it was easier to send trains so....to San Fran. Even Klondike gold went to Seattle as the BLM museum
in Seattle proper loves to repeat in its running feature film "essay" there. (one fun tourista stop!!!)

If I find the time, I'll offer documentable Oregon gold production that was funnelled both South and North that
swelled both sets of "production" numbers including California's numbers on that chart.

One will discover MORE GOLD was shipped from Oregon to SF and Seattle than EITHER California Mother Lode country or Klondike miners produced!!!! These conclusions are drawn from totaling DAILY smelter shipment records kept by a Sumpter statistician named Mellis, who was a "Bob Johnson" statistician in his own right in that day and time.

Would have been nice if he'd had a computer back then...I'd just send you the URL<grin>
