WHY WAR WITH IRAQ IS IMPOSSIBLE. Add to your positions for the day the Dow jumps 500 points. Saddams's choices: 1. Stand and fight - Last gulf war revealed why this to is impossible. He has weapons of Mass Destruction and we have the weapons of ACCURATE DESTRUCTION. Modern weaponry has changed everything. With the weapons we have today ( infrared, GPS guided etc. ) we could have won the Vietnam war in about a year. Think about it for a minute, when was the last thing you heard about his war posturing or pre-war buildup - basically zilch. I wish someone could tell me the last despot (not leader) facing sure defeat that did not cut and run or make a deal with GOLD. Conclusion - Saddam fighting is OUT. 2. Go down as a Martyr by releasing his weapons of mass destruction on Israel - yes, this is a possibility but martyrs don't go out without fanfare and pageantry and mainly the bellowing about Allah and the Virgins etc., there has been very little rhetoric in this regard. The other problem he has is whether his generals would obey such a command in the face of sure destruction by the U.S. 3. Just stand in front of one of his Palaces with his extended family, surrender and certainly face the charge of war crimes while being paraded for all the world to see in a pair of handcuffs and pajamas. Don't think so, despots don't tolerate emasculation very well. 4. Make a last minute deal with the U.S. and tell his people that he is leaving to save his beloved country from the Imperialistic Invaders. Yep, that's it - No War. Happy investing, V
