At this point, I can't help but ask:

WHO IS ADI DA, WHO CARES WHAT HE SAYS, AND WHY DO WE HAVE TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT HIM???

Sorry if this offends you, but really, it's just a guy who has some ideas based on practically NOTHING. You seem to have believed his stuff, which is cool, but really, there are MANY others with very interesting things to say on the subject, from early philosophers onwards.

"And your facetious answer is:

"poach a couple of eggs, grab some toast and play a game of tennis""

I wasn't being facetious.

So the question is:

"It COULD be that the real answer is somewhat DEEPER than that"

Or perhaps not.

"maybe your "raison d'etre" is asking questions
rather than answering them in ways that would threaten your already existing "gadfly" point of view
"

I both ask and answer--to everything there is a time and season...

"If the answer is NO to these, then I would say you have developed a bit of ATTITUDE based on not very much direct evidence."

I know enough to be capable of exposing some incredibly egoistic comments available on the Internet. I can also show that he is a phoney. If he wishes to visit my home with magical powers he is welcome to try. If he wishes to attempt to overpower me he is welcome to try. If he wishes to give ANY evidence whatsoever that he is an Advanced Spiritual Being then he may attempt to do so. If he can do none of these things he can still get someone to type his letters and paint his house and wash his toilet out for free. :-)

I think I am speaking fairly....and I think I am offering in fair manner. I am patiently waiting for him to come to my kitchen. What does he like to drink?

Jim....

>>"if God is everything and everywhere, then what is all the searching about?"
Best question I've heard you ask, Solon! And your facetious answer is:

"poach a couple of eggs, grab some toast and play a game of tennis.

It COULD be that the real answer is somewhat DEEPER than that but maybe your "raison d'etre" is asking questions
rather than answering them in ways that would threaten your already existing "gadfly" point of view........?

Relative to Adi Da, I do understand that you are not what I would call a red-hot prospect to become a devotee BUT:

-- have you ever heard Adi Da speak? live? recorded?
-- have you ever been in his personal company?
-- ever read any of his books?
-- besides me have you ever encountered any of his devotees?

If the answer is NO to these, then I would say you have developed a bit of ATTITUDE based on not very much direct evidence.

So the question is:

Does this ATTITUDE talk about Adi Da or Solon?

What about the notion of "Reality is in the eye of the beholder?"

Namaste!

Jim>>

I don't want to see Solon or Adi Da melt. Trying to square these two would be akin to throwing water on the wicked witch. Neither corresponds to the witch, but this act of melting corresponds to the diametrically opposed energies which is all based in illusion of separation to begin with.

I love Adi Da!!

I love Solon!!

Just the way they are!!

Period!!

Peace and God Bless!
