the world calms down, international spending resumes after iraq and I will agree with you. If things stay as they are then no way. In another month we'll know.

I actually think Rumsfeld is a smarter diplomat than his current actions show. Bush doesn't seem to have a clue. But Rumsfeld knows what he is doing, he should be acting more like Powell but isn't, no idea why.

The reality check that Europe needs is that the American people have elected Bush and he can do whatever he wants no matter what Americans, Europeans, Arabs or anybody else thinks about it because Congress signed over their war-making authority to him as a blank check and he now has the absolute power to do exactly as he pleases, to declare war without any constraints. Bush has the power of an elected dictator. And he wants war badly enough to do whatever is needed to form a pretext. Lets all chant together -- fight, fight, fight.
