Its been my experience that someone like that feels either they have to quit because they are not in sync with their boss or give up their perspective and become a team player.

I know what you mean. Like, for example, the way Madelyn Albright walked out of the Clinton administration after he lied to everyone in America, INCLUDING here. Or the way Reno left after her boss committed perjury. Or Daly, Cohen & Rubin. These people were principled.

I found it particularly impressive the way Al Gore stood up for what was right, rather than standing up and calling Clinton the "best president in history" or whatever.
