they tried to sell us a couple of obscure products -- my interest is that they may have ventured into a lot of BS that they really don't understand and that there is a bomb somewhere -- some kind of trade where they matched up two parties and they get hammered in between.

just a suspiscion.

On a related note --- Been enjoying the debate over medical malpractice -- premiums get raised -- every doctor has heard of at least one lawsuit with a hugely excessive award and they blame the lawyers --

only a few are saying the insurance companies may bave been acting more like hedge funds -- screwed up and are trying to make up the difference.

I honestly am "for the lawyers" on this one -- I don't think there should be caps, given the willingness of folks to print -- I don't think the government should be an underwriter of last resort in very many circumstances.

also, I find their slogan almost offensive ...

>>Take away the risk and you can do anythingSM<<

it is the kind of hubris that brought LTCM down -- the anything is what I was referring to -- I know they have come up with all kinds of crazy products.

They also advertise an exclusive golf club on their site -- I don't know -- it just has the hallmarks of something that could blow up.
