I don't think its experiments or torture but rather a feeling of powerlessness and humiliation that have moved some of them to attempt suicide.

Powerless and humiliation? Maybe but I would think those emotions would have been most prevalent and damaging during their first months of capture......the suicide rate high and then trailing off.

I don't think they are being physically tortured.......that would surprise me. However, I would not be surprised if they were experiencing some form of mental harassment/torture that could lead to suicide attempts. Rumsfield didn't feel these guys met the conditions of the Geneva Convention.....means Rumsfield has a lot of latitude in his treatment of these people.
