Not at all, we gave him weapons and intelligence information in his efforts against Iran. And we gave the Iranians weapons to (Iran Contra). We probably helped Iraq more but any help was both covert and minimal, and mostly only after it looked like Iraq was in trouble. I wouldn't really call that acting like he was our buddy. Noriega was more of a buddy. Never a close friend but "buddy" might describe it well. OBL was not a buddy but we at one time were buddies with some of the same people that he was buddies with and we didn't really consider him an enemy. Tim
