Some have jokingly compared the UN to 25 civilized people and 75 cannibals meeting to discuss what to have for lunch.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!
More like 25 civilized people and 135 cannibals meeting to discuss what to have for lunch, isn't it?

Brumar--The UN didn't choose either of those nations. All nations serve committee chairs on a rotating basis. The operable question is this one: Should a UN nation invade another UN nation without just cause?

>>...Consider these two facts and tell me the UN isn't a joke:
The UN has chosen Iraq to chair its disarmamant conference later this year.

The UN has chosen Libya to chair its human rights conference.<<

When you make your point in this thread, you need to phrase your words a bit more correctly and honestly. Posters and readers here are knowledgeable about the subject we are discussing. PT already gave you an answer for your question above, hope you are satisfied with it.

>>...They(Israel) are surrounded by people who want them dead.<<

Obviously, the truth and the "cause and effect" of the Middle East history need to be examined more objectively than your simple statement above. Ego can play a big role here for the judgement.
