AD, First the easier prediction. WDC earnings. Trailing 12 months at this time are 64c/share. In April they will be 76c. In July 89c. And in Oct, 98c, with forward 12 months earnings probably around $1.10/sh.

WDC saw a high price of 9 after their report. So let's use 14 as a P/E multiplier. That means each quarter wdc's price should increase by approx $1.50/sh at least to the end of the year. So I expect wdc to hit 13 or higher this year.

What is a good time to buy ? Very likely, there is some skepticism of the estimate for this Q of 20c to 22c. But to me, so far it looks conservative. The usual reason for doubt is that the post-Christmas condition of inventories and channel stuffing are uncertain. So it is not known if prices might collapse to clear out inventory. But I see no signs of that at this time. I think the earnings this Q will be over 25c/sh.

So if you want extra assurance, wait to the first couple days in March, when disk price trends during the quarter will be better known. Share prices might be even lower then, considering all the crap going on.
