It's just one of the limitations of the software, (MSFT EXCEL). That is, you give it your entire list of dates and IT decides which ones to display.

You can control this. You can ask it to only print every 5th or 10th or whatever date. You can also leave blank all the tick labels you don't want and ask it to print everything and you should get the ones you want unless they are very close together.
